Hitting sleep deprivation when your baby turns 6 months is HARD, as now that amazing hormone rush of oxytocin and prolactin that gets you through those first few months has really decreased, and dealing with sleep deprivation is now so much harder. Also as a result of her now sleeping shockingly, she was cranky and overtired all day, whingey and not content.Read More
If you are feeding multiple times overnight and this is working for you and your little one, then there is no reason to make any changes. Weaning — when is the right time?
Breastmilk (or formula) is recommended exclusively for the first 6 months of your babies life, with solid foods introduced from 6 months as an ACCOMAPANIEMENT to the milk feeds. It is recommended that your babies main source of nutrition be breastmilk or formula until atleast 12 months of age.
We welcome any opportunity to get to know the inspiring mothers behind some of our favourite instagram accounts, women that help shape our own motherhood journeys by sharing their passions. Recently we got to chat with Luka from Boob to Food and got a peek into what her day-to-day looks like. Luka is not only the face behind Boob to Food but a mother of two (Flynn and Flo), a registered Midwife, nurse and birth and parenting educator - with a focus on sharing foods, recipes and information that equips mothers to think differently (and better) about food we couldn’t wait to know more about Luka and what her family days look like.Read More
I get many questions regarding dairy, and why we limit our personal dairy intake.

This is unfortunately what a lot of baby health nurses will advise, however I personally do not agree. If baby is still happily breastfeeding at 12 months and you’re happy to continue then do so! Babies don’t ‘need’ formula at 12 months as they should be able to gain all essential nutrients from food (given that they have a balanced nutrient dense diet).Read More
All kefir is made using kefir “grains,” which aren’t actually a grain, but a yeast/bacterial fermentation starter. Its a fermented drink full of good bacteria in different strains, its incredible to heal leaky gut, for digestion problems, improves immunity, full of probiotics, improves allergies (as reduces inflammatory response), enhances mood, deters sugar cravings, fights infection due to its antiviral properties and many more benefits!Read More
Don’t forget yourselves mamas! We can get so caught up with making sure our babies have the best, most organic and nutritious food - but what are you eating?? This is something I have fallen guilty too many times.. living off sourdough bread and peanut butter for that quick fix. And while that’s fine in moderation - it’s not going to be providing you with the nutrients you need to function as a busy Mum (especially when sleep deprived!)Read More
